What is kintsugi?
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery using powdered gold, silver, or platinum. Similar to wabi sabi, the philosophy of kintsugi is to show that broken pottery can be made beautiful again. Each crack is repaired with gold to symbolized beauty in imperfection.
This philosophy also represents the human condition in embracing human flaws, and for people who overcome difficult events by healing their minds and hearts, and becoming stronger as a result.
